The boys discuss the fabulous interweaving of the stand alone stories, the stellar cast, the many homages to the horror genre and to the holiday itself, and the delay the film had in being released to the general public. So grab your halloween costumes and your candy sacks, cause Dion and Blake are going trick or treating early this month in another brand episode of Saturday Night Movie Sleepovers!

LOVE Trick-R-Treat! I remember hearing about it from people who went to festivals and they said they LOVED it! I wanted to see it and I had to wait for it come out on DVD. I’m pretty sure this was a Netflix disc rental. But I loved it! I’m a sucker for anthologies so this scratched me right where I itched! And I swear, it doesn’t matter how many times I see this, when the little kid says “Charlie Brown is an asshole!” I die laughing.
Dougherty is a really cool director. Krampus was amazing and I loved Godzilla: King of the Monsters. I hope he gets to do a sequel to Trick-r-Treat like he wants. I’ve got the trade of the mini-series that came out around the time the Krampus mini-series was released (got them both in 2015, if memory serves) and there’s a world of stories they could tell.
This was an awesome way to kick off Halloween. And having John Kassir do the intro…brilliant!
